What if I have an emergency after hours?
Emergency service after hours is provided by the Sarasota Veterinary Emergency Hospital, located at 7414 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231, (941) 923-7260.

This facility is equipped to handle most emergencies, and no appointment is needed. They are open 24 HOURS, including weekends and holidays.

If I call, may I speak to the doctor?
Our staff makes a sincere effort to answer any questions you may have. If the doctor is available, they will gladly take your calls. If the doctor is in surgery or with patients, we will take a message and they will return your call during lunch or after hours.

What if my pet needs to see a specialist?
We have a strong relationship with many specialists in the area. We can assist you in scheduling an appointment with these veterinarians, if necessary.

    Why is laser surgery better?
Because the laser seals nerve endings and small blood vessels. As it "cuts," it reduces the bleeding and pain your pet may endure during an operation. There is also less swelling because the laser does not tear or bruise the tissue. In addition, the laser sterilizes as it removes tissue, reducing the risk of infection. All of these benefits lead to faster healing for your pet.

What does it mean to be an AAHA Accredited Hospital?
To be an accredited American Animal Hospital Association Member, a veterinary practice must meet the Association's high standards for quality veterinary care. This is a voluntary membership whose goal is to uphold a substantially higher standard of medical care and facility resources than most states minimally require. AAHA professionals regularly evaluate our hospital to ensure that we maintain the highest standards and provide the best veterinary care we can.
