Appointment Policy
Scheduled appointments keep our hospital running smoothly and allow our veterinarians to spend adequate time with each patient throughout the day. For this reason, we ask that you please call our front office team or book online when you are ready to make an appointment for your pet, and we will do our best to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
Because emergencies are time-sensitive, we accept them at any time during open office hours and no scheduled appointment is required. If your pet needs urgent care, please call us at 941-922-0756 before coming in. This helps our team prepare for treatment right away and ensures your pet receives the fastest, most attentive care possible.
For after-hours emergencies, we recommend and trust Suncoast Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center and BluePearl Veterinary Partners with the care of our patients. These facilities are open 24/7/365 and are fully-equipped to handle most emergencies without an appointment.

In order to provide our clients and their pets with exemplary service in a technologically equipped facility, we require payment be made in full at the time services are rendered.
With that being said, we never want our patients to go without the care they need due to financial restrictions. To assist our clients in financial preparation, we are always happy to provide estimates for services. Please understand, estimates can fluctuate depending on the medical case and its unique circumstances. CareCredit® is a great financial planning option.
Referral Policy
The medical team at Animal Medical Clinic of Gulf Gate prides itself on the high-level of veterinary care we are able to provide in an array of veterinary areas. If your pet requires specialized care that outreaches what we are able to offer at our facility, we are prepared to provide referrals to the very best veterinary specialists in the area.
Your pet will continue to be a patient of Animal Medical Clinic of Gulf Gate. Throughout the treatment process, the referred specialist will keep us updated on your pet’s progress and health status along the way, and your pet’s care will continue at our facility following treatment from the referred specialist.
Prescription Refill Policy
Our medical facility carries a wide variety of pet products, including medications, science diets, parasite preventatives, and more.
If your pet needs a product refill, please call us 24-48 hours prior to the desired pick-up time. This will allow us to complete the request, and if we do not have the product in stock, will allow for ample time to obtain the product for your pet before the product runs out.
