Appointment Policy

Scheduled appointments keep our hospital running smoothly and allows our veterinarians to spend adequate time with each patient throughout the day. For this reason, we ask that you please call our front office team when you are ready to make an appointment for your pet, and we will do our best to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.

Due to the urgency of emergency cases, they are taken at anytime during open office hours and do not require a scheduled appointment. If your pet needs emergency care, please come to our facility right away. If possible, please call us at 941-922-0756 so we are prepared for treatment as soon as you arrive and we can provide you with pertinent information and advice regarding your pet's emergency situation.

For after-hours emergencies, we recommend and trust Suncoast Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center and BluePearl Veterinary Partners with the care of our patients. These facilities are open 24/7/365 and are fully-equipped to handle most emergencies without an appointment.

Arrival Policy

Proper restraint in the form of a leash or carrier is required of all cats and dogs visiting our facility. This policy is for the safety of all clients, patients, and team members at Animal Medical Clinic of Gulf Gate.

Referral Policy

If your pet requires specialized care that outreaches what we are able to offer at our facility, we are prepared to provide referrals to the very best veterinary specialists in the area.

Your pet will continue to be a patient of Animal Medical Clinic of Gulf Gate. Throughout the treatment process, the referred specialist will keep us updated on your pet's progress and health status along the way, and your pet's care will continue at our facility following treatment from the referred specialist.

Prescription Refill Policy

Our medical facility carries a wide variety of pet products, including medications, science diets, parasite preventatives, and more.

If your pet needs a product refill, please call us 24-48 hours prior to the desired pick-up time. This will allow us to complete the request, and if we do not have the product in stock, will allow for ample time to obtain the product for your pet before the product runs out.

Prescription Diets Policy

Prescription diets are recommended to treat a wide-range of conditions. We carry many prescription diets in house for your convenience, and your veterinarian will recommend the best diet for your pet's individual needs.
